WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 17, 2013 – Consilio, a Symphony Technology Group (STG) company and global leader in eDiscovery software and services, will host a webinar entitled “The eDisclosure Shake-Up: The New U.K. Civil Procedure Rule 31.5” on Wednesday, April 24, at 10 a.m. ET. Speaking at the event will be Chris Dale, Consultant, e-Disclosure Information Project; Marla Bergman, Vice President, Associate General Counsel Legal and Regulatory Proceedings, Goldman Sachs; and Garry Bernstein, Director, Consilio. More information and registration can be found here: https://www.consilio.com/event/webinar-the-edisclosure-shake-up-exploring-the-u-k-civil-procedure-rule-31-5a/

As of April 1, when Lord Justice Jackson’s case management and litigation cost reforms took effect, English and Welch courts have the deciding voice on eDiscovery costs, budgets, search strategies and methodologies as well as the formats in which documents should be disclosed to the other side. Parties that do not demonstrate full command of their eDiscovery resources and controls run a much greater risk of attracting adverse judgements and cost orders. As a result, these new Civil Procedure Rules will become the catalyst for eDiscovery technologies and methodologies.

Attorneys from companies and firms based in the U.K. and attorneys from U.S. companies and firms with operations overseas can prepare for the changes today by attending this one-hour webinar. Attendees will learn:

• Chronology and anticipated effects of Civil Procedure Rule CPR 31.5
• Actions and strategies lawyers can take in the face of these latest legal rules
• Tactical and client-getting benefits for law firms who understand and can interpret the rules
• How technological practices, methodologies and workflows will play a key role in compliance
• What companies must know to be prepared and have a competitive advantage in their eDiscovery strategies

The webinar takes place on Wednesday, April 24, at 10 a.m. ET. Registration and further information can be found here: https://www.consilio.com/event/webinar-the-edisclosure-shake-up-exploring-the-u-k-civil-procedure-rule-31-5a/
