WASHINGTON, D.C. and LONDON –September 24, 2012 – Consilio, a Symphony Technology Group (STG) company and global leader in eDiscovery software and services, today announced the opening of its new office and data center located at Bockenheimer Landstrasse 17/19, 60325 Frankfurt. Consilio, which has been operating in Munich since 2007, has staffed the Frankfurt office to meet growing customer demand and satisfy German data protection requirements.

“Positioning our eDiscovery experts and data center within easy reach of Germany’s financial district allows us to provide our global clients with a local presence and comprehensive service offering,” says Andy Macdonald, CEO of Consilio.

Clients will benefit from the following services at the new Frankfurt facility:

  • German project managers with in-depth knowledge of complex data protection requirements outlined by the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz or BDSG)
  • Highly skilled, native-speaking reviewers with legal and technical expertise
  • Secure, local data center capacity for processing and hosting
  • Access to Global RPM 5.0, Consilio’s proprietary, web-based review platform, which now integrates audio and technology-assisted review functionality

Operations in both Frankfurt and Munich will be run by Adam Pollitt, Senior Vice President at Consilio, whose broad expertise includes electronic evidence recovery, database design, and the application of technology to complex civil litigation, antitrust, and arbitration matters. Adam Pollitt has worked on projects throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Qualified German solicitor (Rechtsanwalt) and Consilio Regional Director Michael Becker will lead the firm’s business development efforts. Michael Becker, who has worked at several global law firms, specializes in anti-corruption and regulatory matters and is an expert on European data protection.

Notes to editor
The main legal source of data protection in Germany is the Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz or BDSG), which implements Directive 95/46/EC on data protection. Additionally, each German state has a data protection law of its own. The collection, processing and use of personal or corporate data are carefully regulated within Germany and these restrictions impact the way in which all internal or regulatory investigations should be conducted.
