John Ashley and Mike Haysley Join Consilio as Managing Directors in Forensics and Law Department Management, Respectively

Washington D.C. – June 8, 2016 – Consilio, a global leader in eDiscovery, document review and legal consulting services, announced today the appointments of John Ashley as managing director in forensics and expert services and Mike Haysley as managing director in law department management.

In his new role, Mr. Ashley will be responsible for advising clients and counsel on issues involving computer forensics, and the preservation and collection of electronic evidence in large scale litigation or regulatory response matters. Mr. Haysley will work closely with corporate law departments and advise them on how to improve operations while reducing costs and producing high-yield results.

“Following Consilio’s string of acquisitions in 2015 and subsequent integration of Huron Legal, Proven Legal Technologies and Backstop, we have been seeking to further bolster our leadership team in key strategic areas,” said Andy Macdonald, chief executive officer at Consilio. “Their expertise in forensics and law department management consulting services will greatly benefit our global client base.”

John Ashley Appointed Managing Director of Forensics and Expert Services

John Ashley brings over 25 years of experience as a computer forensics expert and eDiscovery consultant, during which time he has testified on approximately 80 occasions, including several high profile global litigation cases throughout the US and Europe. Prior to Consilio, he served as the executive vice president of consulting and forensics at Epiq Systems and Encore Discovery Solutions. During his time in the UK, Ashley was the head of the Greater Manchester Police Department’s Computer Examination Unit, the largest criminal computer forensics unit in Europe at that time, where he oversaw computer examinations in Manchester, England, North Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

“Following recent high profile computer forensics cases like the FBI/Apple phone hacking controversy, the area of digital investigations is clearly top of mind for many Fortune 500 companies,” said Macdonald. “We are thrilled to have John join our forensics practice as we integrate the Consilio brand globally and bring together premier eDiscovery, consulting and forensics services to law departments and law firms around the world.”

Mike Haysley as Managing Director of Law Department Management

Haysley joins Consilio with nearly 20 years of experience helping corporate law departments improve and execute business processes while optimizing resources and technology. Most recently, Haysley served as director at Duff & Phelps, where he provided consulting services in the Legal Management Consulting group. In addition to consulting roles with large advisory and Big 4 accounting firms, Haysley was the Director of Legal Operations for Waste Management, where he also managed the Records Management and eDiscovery functions.

“As corporate law departments face continued scrutiny to manage costs and efficiency for both operational and technology infrastructure, it’s crucial that they utilize the latest strategic solutions to meet the needs of their organizations,” said Macdonald. “Mike’s consulting background, along with his ability to personally address and manage many of the issues facing law departments today, will bring a unique perspective to assist the departments in developing and executing their strategies.”
