Washington D.C. – February 1, 2016 – Consilio, a global leader in eDiscovery and document review services, today announced that several executives will lead panel discussions at Legaltech® New York 2016 conference. This is the first U.S. event that Consilio will be attending since the acquisition of Huron Legal in December.

Speakers include Managing Director John Loveland, Senior Director Robert Daniel and Director Shannon Copeland. All three will moderate panels on Wednesday, February 3 for Track 2: Data-Related Risk: How to protect your information and manage risk in a world of intensifying threat and proliferating regulation.

10:30 – 11:45 a.m. ET: “Intelligent Cloud: Ensuring Governance, Risk, Compliance & E-Discovery in Cloud-Based Applications”

Cloud-based applications have exploded over the last few years. These applications allow companies to reduce infrastructure costs, gain flexibility and access enhanced functionality. Without adequate oversight and governance though, companies face increased risks of unauthorized access, theft of IP, and discovery and compliance failures. This panel will take an in-depth look at the risks associated with cloud-based apps and the emerging approaches and technologies being used to mitigate these risks and improve functionality. John Loveland will serve as discussion leader.

2:00 – 3:15 p.m. ET: “Monitoring Regulatory Compliance: Developing Risk-Based Processes to Support Policies”

Regulatory exams, routine compliance demands and potential enforcement issues are ever-increasing risks for many organizations. This is especially true in highly regulated industries such as financial and pharmaceutical. Regulatory agencies are increasingly aggressive in their enforcement of existing supervisory requirements as well as recent new regulations. With the explosion of electronic data and multiple formats, organizations’ Legal and Compliance teams need well-designed, risk-based processes to support their compliance policies. This panel will address ways to efficiently and effectively address compliance issues related to monitoring and review of extensive data using technology, outsourcing and other strategies. Robert Daniel will serve as discussion leader.

3:45 – 5:00 p.m. ET: “Contract Risk Management and Compliance”

When managed well, contracts are among a company’s most valuable assets. In these days of increased regulatory scrutiny, expansive litigation and regulatory investigations, proactively ensuring that an organization’s contracts are in compliance and are managed effectively will mitigate much of the risk – and cost – of formal disputes. This panel will discuss strategies for establishing a contract management program that mitigates risk: assessing the risk, abstracting necessary information and ensuring it is housed and managed appropriately, and monitoring the program on an ongoing basis to intercept potential risk. Shannon Copeland will serve as discussion leader.

Loveland has pioneered a range of information risk assessment and strategy-related solutions in the areas of cyber risk, electronic discovery readiness, regulatory compliance and global privacy compliance in the public, private and governmental sectors. He is a published author, frequent speaker and has testified as an expert at both the Federal and State levels.

Daniel has extensive, hands-on experience managing legal discovery operations, regulatory inquiries and investigations and corporate internal auditing. He has built teams and developed strategies to provide leading-edge business practices in support of large and complex regulatory and litigation matters, in consistently changing corporate environments.

Copeland specializes in contract management and compliance, where he helps clients predict, intercept and mitigate contractual and regulatory compliance risk. His expertise has been used to develop and implement advanced contract risk-management capabilities at a Fortune 50 oil and gas firm, one of the world’s largest nuclear power corporations and a global industrial technology company.

At Legaltech, Consilio will be located at Booth 122. If you are interested in speaking with John Loveland, Robert Daniel, Shannon Copeland or another one of Consilio’s experts on-site or off-site, please contact:
