Consilio Completes Acquisition of Huron Legal
Complementary strengths create one of the leading global eDiscovery, document review and legal consulting service providers
WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 6, 2016 – Consilio, a global leader in eDiscovery and document review services, announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Huron Legal practice from Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN). Huron Legal’s portfolio of services includes eDiscovery, document review, information governance and compliance, law department management and legal analytics. The combined organization becomes one of the largest eDiscovery, document review and legal consulting service providers anywhere in the world, with offices, data centers and review facilities in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
“The combination of Huron Legal’s business with our own has been extremely well-received by the market and our clients,” said Andy Macdonald, Consilio’s chief executive officer. “Consilio clients see significant benefit in the addition of Huron Legal’s considerable scale, deep experience with Relativity by kCura and consulting capabilities. Huron Legal’s multinational clients see tremendous advantage in the ability to leverage Consilio’s international services in Europe and Asia. In fact, we have already won new business as a result of the acquisition.”
Bob Rowe, executive vice president and managing director said, “For the past several weeks, the teams have been working in concert to ensure service continuity for our clients and employees. Now that the transaction has closed, we will move forward with our strategic initiatives to broaden our geographic coverage, enhance our technology offerings and deliver more efficient solutions to our clients.”
The integration period is expected to continue for several quarters as the two businesses align teams, processes and systems.
